At this week's meetup in Melbourne we met a student who writes a travel journal on his own Discord server, and shares it with a small group of close friends. If you're not familiar with Discord, it's an instant messaging service similar to Slack, where you can host your own "server" to chat with your group or community. Discord is primarily used by gamers and live-streamers, but people are using it for other forms of communication, including travel blogging! Do you write a travel journal? And if so, what platforms or apps do you use?
I'm planning a road trip through Kentucky and would love any tips and or suggestions. :)
Hi! I’m looking for a good affiliate marketing program or app where I can create a few US/International itineraries and make an affiliate income. These are for places that do NOT have affiliate links. Does this exists? OR what sites do you use to share your itineraries in your blogs and why do they work best for you? Thanks!
Hi everyone, I am looking for an adequate business plan template more adjusted to the travel industry. I have looked online among the thousands of samples, as well as on Canvas etc but cannot really make up my mind. Before I continue looking for hours...is there anyone here with a suggestion? I am looking for something straighforward, simple, that needs to work mainly for Europe as I am based in Germany. On the sideline: has anyone gone through using AI to fill administrative papers like that? (obviously by personalizing them and adjusting them as necessary). Can it be recommended? Thank you! Dominique
Hello everyone! I’m seeking advice on transitioning into a more stable role in digital marketing and content creation within the travel industry. Could you share your experiences or tips on finding job opportunities, especially with small travel companies? More Details: I have a solid background in digital marketing and content creation, most recently working for a hostel and tour company with operations across Israel, Jordan, Egypt, and the Philippines. This role involved managing a wide range of promotional and content creation tasks aimed at boosting online presence and customer engagement. Previously, I collaborated with tour agencies in Austria, contributing to projects in Austria, Serbia, and Hungary. This volunteer work was intended to enhance my portfolio. Currently, I'm freelancing as a social media content coordinator, digital marketer, and content creator for a musician, aiming to build more diverse experiences. Despite my efforts in leveraging platforms like Facebook...
Hey Travel Massive Community, My name is Martin, and I'm navigating the exciting yet challenging journey of being a first-time cofounder and product leader. We're currently in the process of refining the second iteration of our MVP. As we prepare for our beta launch, our primary goal is to nail down product-market fit. From what I've gathered, product-market fit seems to encompass two major areas: our vision (our definition of success and the unique value we aim to deliver to our users) as founders and the empirical data or benchmarks set by others who've successfully launched in similar markets. Here's where I like to gain more perspective from the Travel Massive Community: 1. Is this dual-sided approach to product-market fit consistent with your experiences? 2. For those who've journeyed through the startup landscape, in the travel space, how did you define and achieve product-market fit for your projects? 3. What metrics, feedback strategies, or milestones have you found crit...
Hi Travel Massive folks, I'm Rudi and I work for World Discovery, a multiday tour operator and travel agency. We run a lot of self guided hiking tours and we're looking for a better way to give navigation to our clients for outdoor hikes. Currently, we're using RidewithGPS, but we're finding that it's not suitable for our hiking tours. I would be grateful for any solutions from Travel Massive members. Thanks!
Hello Travel Massive community, I recently had the pleasure of connecting with another founder through Travel Massive, stemming from my previous post on defining product-market-fit. Our conversation delved into the exhilarating yet challenging journey of being first-time founders building startups in the travel industry. One topic that particularly resonated with us was the exploration of Maps APIs. As we all know, the visual aspect and functionality of maps play a crucial role in travel tools. However, for early-stage startups navigating the MVP or first iteration phase, deciding on the right Maps API can be daunting. Balancing the desire for functionality with budget constraints and the fear of surpassing trial thresholds or entering into costlier plans can be a real dilemma. I'm sure many of you in the community have faced similar challenges. That's why I'm reaching out to gather insights and perspectives from fellow founders. What Maps APIs did you consider in the early sta...
